Skill Assessment
Dribbling
2️⃣ out of 🔟
- Needs more practice here. Noe will become a much more confident and effective player if he spends more time on handling the ball, with both hands. Noe‘s size with a proficient handle will make him extremely versatile.
Shooting
4️⃣ out of 🔟
- Strongest on the team by far. Has the strength to get it to the rim with solid form. Needs more reps getting comfortable shooting on different positions on the court. Layups will need to be a mainstay due to his size and ability to make his presence felt—especially driving to the rim.
Passing
4️⃣ out of 🔟
- Noe has to understand why passes happen. I think once he gets a better handle on that, he will become a more willing passer. Will be good for Noe to improve his passing further to run different actions with the ballhandler, as his wide frame will create separation between the dribbler and their defender.
Defense
1️⃣ out of 🔟
- Noe’s effort on the defensive end is why he has this mark. I understand the game can move fast, but the overall effort that I see from Noe on that side of the floor leaves a lot to be desired. Conditioning—as running is the activity you do the most of in basketball—will help him immensely in this area.
Rebounding
1️⃣ out of 🔟
- Noe has to attack the ball instead of letting it attack him. Confidence and effort is all he needs for this number to skyrocket. He has all the physical tools to be a great rebounder.
Game IQ & Communication
1️⃣ out of 🔟
- I understand that Noe has a quiet temperament, yet that can be harmful when you’re playing on a team with 7 other people. Now we’ve gone from just being quiet, to a missed assignment and no one knows why. Noe’s growth as a player will depend upon his effort and his willingness to be coached—by myself and his teammates. Those two things are up to him.
