Skill Assessment
Dribbling
5️⃣ out of 🔟
- Max has to get more consistent with his handle, but is not far off from being proficient with reps. Max’s spatial awareness paired with stronger ball handling will help him be a consistent contributor.
Shooting
6️⃣ out of 🔟
- Max has the foundations of a solid jumper, and with some tweaks, he will be a threat from the midrange and extended. He needs to finish and extend through layups and not fall away from them. That habit will serve well as he will make a living at the foul line by finishing through contact.
Passing
5️⃣ out of 🔟
- What will take Max over the top as a passer will be his ability to dribble, which will allow him to create opportunities. Willing passer, and has great potential to be a high level playmaker.
Defense
4️⃣ out of 🔟
- Max needs work as far as on ball defense, but he wants to play defense, which I love. Max’s energy on the offensive end should match the defensive end also. The same willingness to cut, pass, and shoot has to be on the other side by communicating, playing man to man, or playing off the ball.
Rebounding
6️⃣ out of 🔟
- Max flies around because he knows that when the ball is in the air, it may as well be for the good guys rather than the bad guys. Attacks the ball well for his age. Paired with a strong handle and consistent passing, Max will be a strong transition player.
Game IQ & Communication
6️⃣ out of 🔟
- Max has all the nuts and bolts there, which he doesn’t always let on. Very incognito type of fella, but his presence is felt. I say his name a lot. Him being the vocal leader I know he can be will do amazing things for his game and confidence. His communication skills have already improved due to his quickness and understanding. Now he has to convey that with his teammates.
