Skill Assessment
Dribbling
2️⃣ out of 🔟
- Adrian is a work in progress with his handle, but he has the willingness to dribble, which is excellent. At this age, ball-handling is what sets kids apart. Attaching his willingness with the fundamentals of dribbling will make Adrian more comfortable offensively on the floor.
Shooting
4️⃣ out of 🔟
- Strong enough to lift up for a jumper and knock it down, which I love about Adrian. Form is there for the most part, now it’s more about fine tuning for consistent results. Layups need work, will be vital for him to use his size attacking the paint to force the issue on defenders and get to the FT line. Finishing through traffic will be good for Adrian to begin getting used to.
Passing
3️⃣ out of 🔟
- Adrian leaves a bit to be desired as a passer, but with his potential as a slasher (as his dribbling and layups improve), improving his passing ability alongside would make him a huge threat at any given time on the court. Also, Adrian’s ability to deliver consistent passes will give him time to use his strength and set bone crushing screens, which is a whole lotta fun (especially when they don’t see it coming).
Defense
3️⃣ out of 🔟
- Has the initiative to play defense, but can get a little lost in the sauce at times sorting through all the muck that can happen in a game. Needs to be more vocal on this side of the floor and take pride in playing defense. Has the potential to be a big difference maker.
Rebounding
3️⃣ out of 🔟
- This mark is very low for Adrian considering how high this number can be. Effort attacking the ball) and timing (paying attention to the flight of the ball & tracking it) are all he needs to shoot up here, and it shouldn’t take him long.
Game IQ & Communication
4️⃣ out of 🔟
- I love love love Adrian’s grit and willingness to learn, it will allow him to grow fast. Adrian does have to learn how to let the game come to him. He has the tendency to force himself on it in ways that hurt the flow of the game and his teammates. Has amazing potential to be a great leader. Great energy, would like to see it more—it’ll spill over into his teammates and on the floor through his play.
